Since I am very interested in vampires, I expected this book to capture my attention and hold my interest in seeing how the story would play out. What I didn't like about the book was the editing. The sophisticated and deliberately slow writing style was not enough to cover up the glaring editing errors, which severely interrupted the flow of the story and burned out my interest as I continued to read. I will say that I was impressed with how much research was put into displaying the knowledge behind the Gemini Coven and Haitian culture. I just wish that the story focused less on using repetitive elements to fill the story and explored having a more complex plot to move the story further along. With some major changes to the editing and with a reexamination of the plot, the author has the chance to redeem this work and turn it into a much more solid story.
